News n°10 - 19.01.2011 : DOMOTEX HANNOVER 2011

As earlier announced our team visted the domotex Fair in Hanover.
Three days on the fair allowd our team to have a pretty close view of the market tendancy for 2011 2012.
In the next coming years we see important changes coming more from the side of the impact of technology rather than  of new designs.
Our favorite discovery is  the PVC planks with a layer of real venner wood inside it.. the best of wood and the best of PVC combined !

Patchwork-design carpets, "used look" parquet, plank flooring with the curved contours of natural tree trunks, laminate flooring that feels like real wood - these were just a few of the design highlights on display at DOMOTEX HANNOVER 2011. 40,000 professionals from 87 different countries attended the world’s leading tradeshow for carpets and floor coverings to sample the latest trends and innovative products for the budding season. DOMOTEX helped the international carpet and floor coverings industry get the new year off to a solid start.

Exhibitors expressed keen satisfaction with the credentials of the professionals in attendance as well as the business deals concluded. As many as 90 percent of the show’s visitors indicated playing an "advisory" or "decisive" role in their companies’ purchasing decisions. This was duly reflected in impressive numbers of deals done and leads generated.

DOMOTEX 2011 boasted a high rate of international attendance, with a total of 60 percent of all visitors coming from outside Germany. In terms of regions of origin, the visitor statistics were roughly on a par with those of the previous year: Attendance was up from Eastern Europe as well as from North and South America. This confirms DOMOTEX as one international event with sufficient scope and reach to be able to bring together the entire global industry and its clientele and to fully highlight the market trends.

The majority of this year's DOMOTEX attendees consisted of buyers from the retail and wholesale trade. The skilled trades were also again strongly represented, with 20 percent of all visitors consisting of parquet recliners and other floor layers as well as interior furnishers and painters.

One other important topic this year was the Contractworld event. The contractworld congress centered around presentations from architects and interior designers on the latest developments in their field. Speakers included stars from the international architecture community like Jürgen Mayer H. from Berlin, Quintus Miller from Basel and Albert France-Lanord from Stockholm. Ecological sustainability was in the spotlight at this year's contractworld, and numerous presentations and panel discussions featured topics like the conservation and efficient use of resources.

Contractworld presented materials and trends for residential and commercial buildings. Architects and interior designers also took the opportunity to find out about the newest products and materials available from exhibiting enterprises. "
